"We really love the classes, its mayhem at first but then the kids really settle and start enjoying and listening to the games. Great for learning colours and skills. We LOVE it."
Karen, Whetstone Purple Monkeys
"My 4 year old son has been attending for a few sessions now and is really enjoying it. It seems to be helping his physical co-ordination and mental concentration...The coaches have shown enthusiasm, patience and good humour in dealing with the children's differing requirements."

"We went to Cheekymonkeys and friends this morning, I was concerned how my little one would be and get on but he really surprised me and joined in with my help of course. I have signed him up from September when the other children are back at school. All three coaches were full of life and you can tell they love children very much. I think my nearly 2 year old learnt some colours from today too. Really enjoyed it, the coaches were also really pleasent to the parents too so I felt confortable and so did my little one. My little one had a run about too and had a sleep when he got home a happy little boy."
Heather, Aylestone Purple Monkeys
"My daughter has great fun while learning. It's just right for the age range and they learn from other children too."
Susan, Wigston Purple Monkeys
“Michael used his coaching skills to not only teach football skills, but also to introduce pre-school children to foundation topics such as colours, numbers and animals (amongst other things) in a fun learning environment.”
Martyn
“Michael is a very conscientious young man. He is extremely professional and has a wonderful manner when communicating with young children and adults alike. Hemakes sure that he knows all children’s names from the first time they attend his classes and instantly puts them at ease. His coaching sessions are well-planned and well-resourced. He thinks of new and stimulating activities for the children to do each week that build on their skills and allow them to develop at their own speed. The sessions are always fun and exciting for the young children and they enjoy seeing him taking part in the activities. This make them feel safe and secure about having a go at them themselves. He is aware of all the needs of each individual child in his class and will adapt activities to make them achievable or extend their skills, without making them appear different to the rest of the group.”
Catherine, Primary School Teacher
“…making a 3yr old believe there is a hungry Penguin in the room that needs feeding with fish (footballs) is pure genius. All the games in fact have been well thought out and the pace of activities is planned extremely well with breaks for refreshments/loo- stops….The blend of educative role play with pure fun and football skill training is just right for their age group”
Steve
“The football classes are consistently the highlight of my week and its due in no small part to the role that Coach Michael plays in keeping Ted (my son) and the other boys and girls engaged, enthusiastic and most importantly, happy - he’s got tremendous flair for communicating with kids”
Ken
“Michael is an effective communicator with both parents and children, offering clear concise instructions to the children when explaining the games they played”
Jo
“Michael surprises me every Saturday morning with his energy and uplifting teaching of the future football stars he coaches. He surprises me even more especially as a young man he is extremely polite, thoughtful, considerate, imaginative and positive towards all the children he teaches but most of all he always attends the course without fail. Most parents struggle not to get frustrated by their children running riot but Michael has the ability to talk to the children at their level and keep their attention for which I admire.”
Simon
“Michael is a very competent, capable teacher and the children respond to him very well. He is able to retain the children's interest and keep the class at the correct speed for the ages he deals with. His classes are well organised and varied each week.”
Emma
“My son Robin can be very vocal at times (all the time?!) and I wanted to let you know how brilliantly you handle his behaviour. Your skill is clearly innate – you show a real talent for leadership and have found ways to work with Robin that keep the class moving, get him on track without quashing his enthusiasm or diverting him from the lesson. Other parents also mentioned how good you are with the children, not just in ‘controlling’ them, but in the obvious enthusiasm and enjoyment you bring to the sessions”
Emma
“The sessions are clearly planned and well thought out and are practical in encouraging the children to participate fully. From a personal point of view, there is no doubt Ollie’s (my son) abilities have grown thanks to Michael”
